We have volunteering roles to suit everyone, however much time you have to give and whatever your experience. We just ask that you help us spread the power of kindness.
Not fluent In Danish? No problem. We’re opening a large second-hand store in Virum, just north of Lyngby, with the aim of supporting people around us. You can help us make it a second-hand store like no other.
Below are some examples of volunteering roles. Some we can time box. Others will be on a longer-term basis.
Regular schedule: You can commit to spending a few hours volunteering on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Project effort: Your effort is focused on one or more concrete projects, events, etc., with a fixed end date.
Examples of volunteer roles
Shop volunteer
No two days in the store are ever the same. From the exciting donations that come through our door, to the wonderful customers who shop with us. You will talk to customers and provide great service, create exciting displays, and sort and price donations for sale in the store. No previous experience is needed, just a warm smile and a friendly outlook. (Regular schedule)
Marketing and communications:
To attract customers, donors, and volunteers, we’re going to use multiple communication channels, especially online. The job is about talking to fellow volunteers to capture stories, take photos and make videos for our digital assets library as well as original and engaging content for our various channels. Create events:
We want to help people to connect. Customers, volunteers, donors, and passerbys. Nudge them into forming new relationships by giving them special experiences. Your task is to think up, organize, and execute events inside the store. Fashion shows, Christmas celebration, national collection day, talks, film screenings, art exhibitions. (Project effort)
Transportation:
Help us collect clothes, furniture, home accessories and other donations. A driver’s license will come in handy but is not required. You just need to be fairly good shape as there is a bit of lifting. (Regular schedule)
Digital store:
We need volunteers who can help us specify requirements (project managers) and configure software (software specialist). (Project effort)
o To optimize customer experience, we need to understand in-store behaviour, efficiency of our marketing etc. AI is going to help us here.
o AR will allow customers to “see” selected furniture in their home before they buy.
o With VR we’re going to show how donations to Red Cross help people locally and internationally.
o On interactive video walls school children will learn about International Humanitarian Law.
Implement management tools:
Supporting volunteers, we will use Microsoft 365 extensively, including Microsoft Teams for collaboration, Shifts for schedule management and Power BI for store management. We will need project managers and software configurators to implement such tools. (Project effort)
How do I become a volunteer?
There are many more volunteering roles to be filled. It most likely that we need your talent or interest.
